PEOPLE LIKE US – is a journey through the singer-songwriter and Americana genre, where a warm and intimate sound meets its stories, completely without autotune. The title track is listed on radio NRK P1 southern Norway and Greater Oslo and made the A-lists of Radio Signal and Ordentlig Radio.
Through an acoustic soundscape and personal lyrics, Paulin Voss explores themes from life’s country road – with a special look at what happens when you dare to stand in the imperfect and human. The arrangements vary from the very simple, with an acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies, as on the title track “People Like Us” to larger band arrangements spiced up by several layers of cello from the artist’s own almost 300-year-old instrument. The release has also been pressed in an edition of 200 LP records.
SHORT BIO
Paulin Voss is a singer, cellist and songwriter/composer.
PEOPLE LIKE US is her 6th album released on her own label Madebyme Records and distributed through Musikk Operatørene/TheOrchard. The album is produced by Paulin and guitarist Kjetil Steensnæs who has also mixed the album in addition to playing guitar and pedal steel.
In 2021 Paulin reached the final of the Liverpool International Song Contest as 1 of 10 songwriters and performed her song THE RIVER at legendary “The Cavern Club” in Liverpool.
The single SOUNDWAVE from her second album was A-listed on norwegian national radio NRK P1 for 13 weeks after the release in 2012. The single BLACK SOUL from her 3rd album was listed on the same channel for 8 weeks in 2015 and was featured on the soundtrack of the award winning cinema film Los Bando in 2018.
